Ella Enchanted
By: Gail Carson Levine
My book is called Ella Enchanted. This book was written by Gail Carson Levine and has won a Newbery Honor Award.
There are a lot of exciting parts in this book. But one of my most exciting parts was near the end. Char received Ella's fake letter that she got married to a rich guy and lives with him. In the letter it describes Ella as a very mean person saying that " Ella laughs with all of her money ". Char was furious saying that he doesn't even miss Ella and that she was a nobody to him. A couple of weeks later, Char returned from his school and his father threw 3 balls as a welcome back to Char and so that Char can find himself a bride. It was kind of like a ball were you had to wear masks and when Ella heard this she had to go. She called Lucinda ( who realized all of her mistakes and became good ) and Lucinda gave her some jewelry and a tiara. Ella used her mother's gowns and a mask that she wore to her father's wedding. Lucinda gave Ella a ride, footman and coach. But ( just like Cinderella ) the spell only lasts till midnight. Ella went to the ball all 3 days just looking at Char and each day she wore something new. On the last day, Mandy gave her some jewelry and a tiara. On the 1st day of the ball, Char invited Ella to dance. Ella said her name was Lela so that Char couldn't recognize her. Ella wanted to charm Char and she did. The last day, Char took Ella outside. Hattie came and she took of Ella's mask, reveling her to be Ella. Ella ran away leaving one shoe behind. The next day, Char came to Ella's house, saying that he wanted Ella to try the shoe. It fit and Char asked Ella to marry him. Ella desperately wanted to and said yes. Then started crying. To save Char she couldn't marry him. She screamed no and she went outside and screamed NO!!!!! Even louder. Revealing her curse in the process, she suddenly got rid of it. Ella was free to do whatever she wanted. She married Char and became a queen. The End!
