For my Book report I am reading is "When Zachary Beaver Came to Town" by Kimberly Willis Holt. It is set during the Vietnam war, in 1971 in Texas. This book is about a thirteen year old boy, Toby, and his best friend, Cal. Toby is having the worst and hardest summer of his life: It's the summer his mom leaves home to become a country music singer, the summer Cal's big brother Wayne is sent to fight in Vietnam. During this summer the "fattest boy in the world" (as he calls himself) comes to their small city in Texas.
Two words i don't know:
1. oblivious
definition: not aware or concerned about what is happening around him/her.
sentence: Billy sleeps on the couch, oblivious to the music and the growl of the machine.
2: emphysema
definition: A condition in which the air sacs of the lungs are damaged and enlarged causing breathlessness.
sentence: As if Wylie Womack doesn't have enough problems with his crooked body, he also has emphysema.
