The boy in the Striped pajamas

Author: John Boyne

50/215

I am reading the book called "The Boy in the Striped Pajamas".Genre: Realistic fiction. It is about this wealthy Jewish family living in Berlin, the capital of Germany in the beginning of world war 2. I personally find the book interesting, and full of dynamic happenings.  I would like to advise this book to people who are interested in the Holocaust, world war 2 and a very dynamic story.

Here are some interesting/unfortunate facts about the Holocaust:

An estimated 7 million people where killed.

The word Holocaust comes from the Greek word: Holokauston meaning animal sacrifice.

An estimated 90% of all Polish Jews died during world war 2.

Summary: Bruno is a 9 year old boy living with his mom ,dad, maids and his 12 year old sister Gretel. One day, they see a big construction site near their house. Hundreds of little huts where being built next to their house. Then their mom gives them the information that they must flee from Berlin as soon as possible. Strange ideas where hitting Bruno's head. What is going to happen next? Find out for yourself!

Mystery word/ sentence: "....We hope that you will never stumble up on one of these fences.". Meaning: We hope that you will never be trapped in a country due to it's political reasons.

Hope you enjoyed my Blog post!
