Title: Princess of the Midnight Ball

Author: Jessica Day George

#272/272 pages read

This week I read Princess of the Midnight Ball, a retelling of the confusing yet delightful little fairy tale of The 12 Dancing Princesses. This book was a mix of fantasy, historical fiction, scary, exciting adventurous, with a dash of comedy that will have you hooked until the very last page. In this book the Queen of Iona, a continent based on Europe, makes a " deal " with Understone! Who is he, you ask? You'll have to find out yourself. The queen, now gone, has left the deal to dance for Understone for 24 years to her 12 daughters. Many a prince has come to find out why every morning the maids find worn out dance slippers, but have now failed. Now it's up to Galen, an under gardener, who was once a soldier, to save them with the help of his wonderful knitting skills. But there is more a mystery hidden deep beneath this book that you have to dig for yourself.
