The book that I am reading for my book report is called Wonder by R.J Palacio.
I am on page 290 out of 315. The main characters in Wonder are August,
Via , Summer, Jack, Miranda, Justin and Julian. The protagonist in
Wonder is August and the antagonist is Julian.
August: August is a very caring, kind but shy character. Augusts face is deformed and his face is really weird. Everybody would stare at him and make fun of him. When he was little he would always wear a astronaut hat. He thought it was more weirder to see he's face than a kid in a astronaut hat. He's eyes are really low, his mouth is half open half closed(because of his 27 surgeries), his hair covers his eyes, his ears are really big and his noise is I would say normal. His one of those characters that needs more confidence and then at the end he gains it.An example of August being shy is when he used to were his hat and another example of him being caring is when he helped his friend Jack with homework.
Via: Via is Augusts sister. Via loves August and she was never ever embarrassed by him until she came to another school (high school). She is very kind and loves to play with everybody and especially animals. An example of Via being caring would be when she would always play with August. One more example of her liking animals is because she wanted to adopt a street dog and her parents did. Everything changed when she started going in high school. Via has really brown hair and brown eyes. She is really pretty just like her mother and really smart.
Summer: Summer is Augusts really good friend and they always have lunch together. Summer was the only friend August actually had when he went to school at the beginning. She was the only one that wanted to be his friend because he was himself not because the principle made her be friends with him. She is very popular and really smart for example when she got all correct on her math test and when she always sat with the popular group before August came. Summer has blond hair and blue eyes and she is the prettiest in her class, smartest and kindest. August and Summer made a months club because there names were the names of months and seasons.
Miranda: Miranda is Via's best friend, and Augusts friend. Every time she would come to Via's house to play with August. They both liked star wars and they had many things incommen. Miranda is really kind, but sometimes she can be mean for example when she totally ignored Via and she is really kind because she gave August the astronaut hat. Miranda has brown hair with pink highlights and her eyes are so pretty, she is beautiful .
Jack:Jack is Augusts best friend in his new school. Jack is one of those kids that is popular and kind but doesn't want to loose his popularity and sometimes he can be mean trying to keep it. For example when he was trash mouthing August his best friend only because the popular kids were doing it. And an example of Jack being kind is because he always plays with August. Jack has brown short hair and brownish greenish eyes.
Justin: Justin is Via's boyfriend. He has longish hair and glasses. Justin is very smart, loves music, has empathy and tolerance.An example of him having empathy is when he felt really sorry for August and actually helped him out. One more example of him loving music is because he was in a band. He loves Via but he always gets shocked when he sees August but of of course he never shows that. Via's parents love Justin because he has good grades, he is polite and he is in a music band!
Julian: Julian is Augusts and Jacks worst enemy he always made fun of August and bullied him around, send him mean notes and always made all the other boys hate him. Julian had brown hair and brow eyes and he was one of the popular boys in his class. He was mean, selfish, he would cyber-bully and do many more bad things to August. An example of him being mean is when he wrote a note to August saying his face is so weird, deformed, ugly and that everybody is disgusted by him. Another example of Julian being selfish is when he made the the whole class hate August
